Quick Answer
Can I use my own WhatsApp Business number on Weddingkart?
Yes. Connect a WhatsApp Business Account you already run to Weddingkart through Meta's official embedded signup flow - no number porting, no separate device. Once verified, guests see your event company's name as the sender instead of Weddingkart's shared 'Wedding Invite' - the sender photo can be the couple's, but the name itself has to match your registered business. Free-form messages work immediately; template messages need Meta to re-approve them on the new number first, so connect a few weeks before the wedding, not the week of.

Guests see your name - not "Wedding Invite"
By default, every Weddingkart wedding sends through a shared verified sender, and guests see a channel named "Wedding Invite." If you already run a WhatsApp Business Account for your event company, connect it through Meta's official verification and guests see your company's name instead - you can still put the couple's photo on the sender. Sending still happens inside the Weddingkart app; nothing moves to a separate device.
Wedding Invite
Shared sender - default
You are invited to the Sangeet at The Leela Palace.
Sharma–Mehta Events
Your own connected number

Shared sender vs. your own number
Both send through the official WhatsApp Business API. The difference is entirely about branding and a one-time setup step - not about reliability, tracking, or features.
Connect once, no ongoing setup
Four steps, all inside the Weddingkart dashboard and Meta's official verification flow.
Start the connection
From your Weddingkart dashboard, start the "connect your own WhatsApp number" flow. If you don’t see it yet, ask the team during onboarding - availability depends on your account setup.
Verify through Meta
Meta’s official embedded signup opens - the same Facebook Business verification flow used to connect a WhatsApp Business Account to any BSP platform. Log in with the Meta Business account that owns your WhatsApp number.
Weddingkart auto-detects your setup
Once verified, Weddingkart pulls in the phone number and any existing approved templates on that account automatically - no manual re-entry.
Submit templates, then wait a few days
Free-form replies work right away. For template messages (your first invite to each guest), submit them for Meta approval on the new number and budget a few days before the first big send.
Worth the setup for some teams, not for others
Usually worth connecting
Event management companies running many weddings, who already have a branded WhatsApp Business Account.
Agencies whose clients expect to see the company name, not a generic sender, on every wedding they run.
Teams that already completed Meta Business verification for another purpose and just need to connect it.
Usually fine on the shared sender
Couples planning their own single wedding - the setup step outweighs the branding benefit for a one-off event.
First-time planners who want to send their first invite today, not after a Meta verification cycle.
Anyone within two weeks of the wedding - template re-approval on a new number needs lead time you may not have.

Frequently asked questions
What is "Bring Your Own WhatsApp" (BYOW)?+
BYOW lets you connect a WhatsApp Business Account you already run to Weddingkart, instead of sending through Weddingkart’s shared "Wedding Invite" sender. Once connected and verified, guests see your event company’s name as the channel sending their invites, reminders, and updates - the sender name has to match your registered business, but the photo on that sender can be the couple’s.
Do I need to port my number, or use a separate device?+
No number porting. You connect your existing WhatsApp Business Account through Meta’s official embedded signup flow (the same OAuth-style connection banks and airlines use), and Weddingkart auto-detects the phone numbers and templates already on that account. All sending still happens inside the Weddingkart app - there is no separate phone or device you need to keep online.
Can I send messages the moment I connect my number?+
Free-form messages - anything inside an open 24-hour conversation window - work immediately on a newly connected number. Template messages (the pre-approved formats used for the first message to a guest) need Meta to re-approve them on your specific number first. Budget a few days for that step. Connect the number and submit templates two to three weeks out, not the week of the wedding.
Is this available on every plan?+
BYOW is available to teams who already run a WhatsApp Business Account and want their own name on the sender. If you don’t see the connect option in your dashboard yet, ask the Weddingkart team during onboarding - availability depends on your current account setup.
What do I give up by staying on the shared sender instead?+
Nothing operational - delivery, RSVP buttons, scheduling, and tracking all work identically. The only difference is branding: guests see a channel named "Wedding Invite" instead of your name, and that number can’t be called back. Most single-wedding couples and first-time planners stay on the shared sender because it needs zero setup.
Want your name on the sender instead of "Wedding Invite"?
Ask the team to connect your WhatsApp Business Account during onboarding, or switch over anytime before your next campaign. Everything else - RSVP buttons, scheduling, delivery tracking - stays exactly the same.
