Quick Answer

Can you send a poll using the WhatsApp Business API?

No. Polls are a consumer app feature and have no Cloud API equivalent. You cannot create one, send one, or read the results of one through the API. What you can do is better for most business cases anyway: interactive reply buttons for up to three options, or a list message for up to ten. Each tap comes back on the webhook attached to that person, so you get a per-respondent answer rather than an anonymous tally.

Can You Send a Poll on the WhatsApp API?

No polls. Buttons, and you learn who said what.

Why buttons beat a poll here

A poll gives you a count. For most business questions a count is the less useful answer: knowing that 240 people said yes is no help when you need to know which 240.

Interactive replies arrive on the webhook tied to the sender, so you can write the answer straight onto that person record. For an RSVP, a menu choice or a travel question, that is the whole point.

Choosing between buttons and a list

Reply buttons cap at three and appear directly under the message, so they get the highest tap rate. Use them for the common case: yes, no, maybe.

List messages hold up to ten options behind a tap, which suits something like picking a ceremony to attend. They cost one extra interaction, so do not reach for a list when three buttons would do.
